The Reason I Jump, my film based on the book of the same name by Naoki Higashida, launched at Sundance Film Festival in January 2020, winning the Audience Award in the World Documentary category.
The film had a great response at the festival, with reviews from The Hollywood Reporter describing it as “elegant, luminous …A work of cinematic alchemy” and ScreenDaily as “enormously affecting – and revelatory… ‘The Reason I Jump’ will change how you think, and how many films can say that?”. The film was one of the Hollywood Reporter’s critics’ top films of the festival.
